PROMOTION & RELEGATION STILL IN BALANCE

By Phil Woosnam

It goes right down to the wire

The Spar League title will go right down to the wire after Rhayader's 2-0 victory away at Dolgellau. They now just need a point from next weeks finale at home to Llanidloes to gain promotion back to the Cymru Alliance.
If they dont, then Montgomery will be crowned back-to-back champions after winning the second division last year.
Relegation is still very much un-decided although money must now be on Welshpool to survive after today's results. Taffs Well look as if they will just pip Haverfordwest to second place in the Welsh League meaning that Newtown will survive in the Welsh Premier and thus Llanrhaeadr will also survive as well in the Cymru Alliance meaning that Welshpool will maintain their place in Spar 1 for next season.
Aberaeron look as if they will win the second division gaining promotion whilst the second place looks as if its going to go to Four Crosses after their fine 2-1 victory over Llandrindod Wells. Llanfair Utd are also still in the hunt but results are now out of their hands.
