The new Spar League season kicks-off tomorrow evening when a large crowd is expected at Llansantffraid Village for their local derby match at home to Welshpool.
Welshpool have a newly formed management duo in experienced campaigners Russell Cadwallader and assistant Clive McNamee. Both are former stalwarts of the club and it will be interesting to see what side they have assembled in readiness for the new campaign. They could well be a surprise package this year.
A further three matches take place on Saturday afternoon with Builth Wells hosting Montgomery with new managers also on view. Shane Claridge has taken over the reins from Jason Samuel who has gone to Rhayader whilst Lee Jones has taken over from Clive Mac.
Relegation threatened Dolgellau from last season host Bow Street whilst Waterloo and Aberaeron lock horns in Welshpool.
In the only second division match, Knighton host Rhosgoch .
All other clubs available to play on the first day of the season are in Welsh Cup action and good luck goes to them all.
