BOW STREET

Bow Street FC embark on a new chapter in their history as they take on Dolgellau on Saturday under new management in the first game of the season. Club stalwart Phil Evans is the new manager, taking over from his friend, Andrew Simkin, with long serving player, Nicky Smith as his assistant.
Wyn Lewis, who was elected as chairman of the club for the tenth successive year at the recent AGM said, ‘We are delighted that Phil has taken over as manager. He has been a great servant of this club for the best part of 15 years as a player and a coach of junior teams. We started an under 19’s team last season with Phil as manager, and they promptly won the Mid Wales Youth league.’
‘As well as the first team, I am excited about the appointment of Barry Williams as Reserve team manager with Chris Howard as his assistant, and also we have chosen Danny Evans as the Under 19’s coach.’
Phil Evans said, 'It is a great honour to be appointed as manager of a club that means so much to me. I am under no illusions as to how difficult a task it is going to be in a league which is becoming increasingly competitive. My expectations for this season are not great - just that we start building and developing a young side which can become competitive in seasons to come'
