WELSH CUP RESULTS generally very good

By Phil Woosnam

2nd Div clubs do well

In a mixed bag of results for the League, pride of place goes to Llandrindod Wells, Aberaeron and Rhosgoch from League 2 who all gained excellent victories in the 2nd Prelim Rd of the Welsh Cup.
Another win in Round 1 will guarantee the clubs £500 from the FAW prize fund so fingers crossed for the next round draw.
Llanfair Utd were unlucky to come away from Holyhead with a 4-3 extra time defeat.
Other Spar winners included Carno away at Llangollen, Llanidloes won 4-3 at home to Glan Conwy, Newbridge won away at Tywyn Bryncrug, Builth Wells won at Brickfield Rangers and Montgomery beat Bro Goronwy 5-0.
Unfortunately, all other clubs who played yesterday lost out but it certainly has been a much more successful year all round this time with eight clubs still in the competition.
