In the only league match played in midweek Waterloo Rovers went to the top of the league with a 6-0 drubbing of visitors Newtown Wanderers. For the first half hour Wanderers held their own and had a couple of half chances but once full back Ben Marston opened the scoring with a 30 yards lob on 32 minutes the floodgates opened.Tom Ellis scored a second two minutes later followed by two Luke Evans goals after 37 and 43 minutes. The wanderers goalkeeper Paul Jones suffered an injury attempting to save the fourth goal and took no further part in the game. Rovers started the second half in similar vein with Luke Evans(pictured completing his hat trick on 46 mins and Tom Ellis again on 47 mins. To Wanderers credit they changed their shape following the sixth goal and resorted to a long ball game rather than trying to play themselves out of trouble and there was no further scoring.
