RHAYADER TAKE OVER AT THE TOP

Hard fought victory at previous leaders Newbridge-on-Wye

Rhayader maintained their 100% record in the league with a late Lance Jones goal gaining the points at Newbridge-on-wye.
The final scorre was 2-1 whilst other scores on the night included Montgomery easily beating Welshpool by 6-0, Dolgellau gained an excellent 4-1 win away at Tywyn whilst Banw got on the board with a 1-0 away win at Waterloo.
Carno and Berriew shared the spoils in the other match.

In Division 2, Knighton displace Abermule at the top of the table, also maintaining their 100% record with a fine 4-1 away win at Talgarth.
Abermule drew 1-1 with near neighbours Kerry.
Llandrindod and Llanfair Utd gained 5-0 and 6-0 wins over Bont and Meifod respectively and both look to be serious conttenders this time around.
Presteigne moved off the bottom after an excellent win away at Rhosgoch whilst Llanfyllin gained their first points 6-3 at home to Four Crosses.
In the Cardiganshire match, the points were shared after a 1-1 draw at Tregaron where Aberaeron were the visitors.

This weekend, the Spar League host the groundhoppers with 10 venues being set aside for the visitors.

FAW Fair Play Award The FAW Council has decided to implement a Fair Play award for each division of the Spar League for this season. It will mean that the best disciplined side in each division will receive a £1,000 each which can go towards equipment or ground improvements
