Penrhyncoch, who gained a wild card entry into the Word Cup certainly died the league proud last night with an excellent 9-8 win over WPL leaders Newtown.
In an exciting match, Newtown edged the first half and went in one goal to the good but Penrhyn came storming back "down the hill" in the second half and deservedly levelled midway through the half.
Newtown lost Sean Evans who was then sent-off soon after but looked to have won the game late on with a penalty after Luke Boundford was allegedly brought down.
But, with the seconds ticking away, an excellent corner kick was converted in the dying moments of the game to take the match into extra time.
During that time, Newtown also saw keeper Perry dismissed although the resulting penalty was saved by stand-in Jamie Price.
Penalties arose and Newtown missed after 7 kicks each to leave an ecstatic home side await with interest their next round opponents who will be known on Thursday afternoon.
I'm sure they are hoping for Aberystwyth Town at home.
