Llanidloes make early running

By Phil Woosnam

Aberaeron spoil 100% record though

Llanidloes make the early running in the Spar Mid Wales League although their 100% record went yesterday after a 1-0 defeat at Aberaeron who themselves are well in the running at the top of the table.
Four Crosses maintained their 100% record with a 3-1 away victory at Dyffryn Banw who unfortunately remain pointless thus far.
Carno moved away from the bottom of the table with a fine 5-0 away victory at Builth Wells.
A good start to the season has seen a new look and youthful Berriew side take 10 points from their first four matches which must please manager Mike Pearce.
Newbridge must be somewhat disappointed with only three points from their opening three matches although they have come up against Llanidloes and Montgomery in that time and all away from home as their pitch recovers from summer drainage.
Montgomery remain undefeated alhough they have dropped points with two draws.
Welshpool will be pleased to get on the board with a fine 5-2 win at home To Tywyn Bryncrug who previously had a 100% record.
In Division 2, its Hay St Marys who lead the field although they will be disappointed to have thrown a 2 goal lead away at home to Machynlleth yesterday in the final 10 minutes.
Llandrindod and Llanfair have 100% records to date and both will be looking to make up for last seasons disappointments.
Presteigne should also come into the reckoning and dont seem to have a problem with scoring goals having netted 10 times in their first two matches (although one was drawn 5-5).
Once again. a very competitive league this season with a number of clubs looking for promotion.
