Four Crosses remain top

Both of the top sides though drop points

Four Crosses are a point clear at the top of the Spar Mid Wales League, first division on a day when neither of the top two clubs could manage a win.

Four Crosses were held to a goalless draw at Berriew, but Aberaeron missed out on the chance to regain top spot when they were beaten 2-1 at Waterloo Rovers.

Builth Wells are now up to second after a 2–1 win at Aberystwyth University while Llanidloes Town are third after a 9-1 demolition of visiting Dolgellau who remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Newbridge slipped to a first home league win of the season when Carno headed back to Montgomeryshire with a 3-1 victory, while there was a 2-1 win for Tywyn Bryncrug at Dyffryn Banw.

In the day’s other game at this level, Llansantffraid Village shaded their home fixture against Welshpool Town by 3-2.

Montgomery Town unfortunately exited the F A Trophy by 4-2 at Denbigh Town.

In the second division Llandrindod Wells’ 2-1 home win over Presteigne St Andrews helped them close the gap on leaders Llanfair United to three points – Llanfair were without a league game this weekend as they were also involved in a F A Trophy defeat.

Kerry remain in touch in third place after they saw off visiting Rhosgoch Rangers 2-1 while Presteigne remain fourth.

Knighton Town were held 1-1 by Bont at Bryn-y-Castell whilst, in the battle of the ‘Abers’, Aberdyfi are 3-1 winners over visiting Abermule.
