Waterloo Rovers are the very early pacemakers in the new Central Wales League Northern section having won both their opening 2 matches. Luke Evans and Oliver Davies bagged their goals in their 2-1 win over Bishops Castle and this was followed by a narrow 1-0 victory over Four Crosses thanks to a 3rd minute strike from Ugis Treimanis. Four Crosses had themselves won their opener last Friday having come from behind against hosts Llanfyllin winning 4-2. Liam Pickstock scored twice for Fyllin with Rhys Owen, Tom Evans, Billy Clarke & Jacob Edwards on target for the visitors. It was a bad week all round for Llanfyllin as they travelled to Dyffryn Banw and were sunk by 3 second half goals by Banw's Efan Davies, Alwyn Jones & Jamie Huxley. Forden United began their campaign with a 4-2 home win against Barmouth & Dyffryn United with Jake O'Donnell and Steve Roberts scoring twice. Goals from Joe Soar and Paul Lewis kept the visitors in the hunt. Barmouth then travelled to neighbours Tywyn Bryncrug and came away with a 3-1 win thanks to Ieuan Brooks who bagged the first hat-trick of the new season. The result finds Tywyn Bryncrug at the foot of the table having lost both their opening matches. Montgomery Town had a mixed week. After beating Tywyn 4-1 on the opening weekend, they were narrowly beaten at home to Kerry in a five goal thriller, all the goals coming in the opening 45 minutes. Harry Evans and Jack Williams were on target for Montgomery with Xavier Matisse, Ishmael Ozdemir & Ben Hendleman replying for Kerry. Late newcomers Trewern United surrendered a two goal lead on the opening day to share the spoils with Carno with a 2-2 draw at their new home in Llandrinio. Panayiotis Haralambous and Byron Edwards gave the home side the advantage only to see Carno score twice in the closing 5 minutes with goals from Geraint Jones and Joe Morris in the 90th minute. In midweek, title favourites Llansantffraid beat Trewern 4-1 with Adam Biggs, Matt Williams and two penalties from Zak Davies their marksmen. Abermule began their campaign with a 2-1 win at home to Carno and were also grateful to a 69th minute Greg Pryce penalty to seal the points. Earlier Geraint Jones spot kick had given Carno the lead only for Lewis Gorman to cancel this out with the equaliser on 32 minutes.
