Spar Club Llanrhaeaedr get plumb home tie against mighty Rhyl

News - Welsh Cup Drawn by Wales Stars Ledley and Gunter
Posted: 31 August 2010

Wales stars Joe Ledley and Chris Gunter took time out from their preparations for Friday's UEFA 2012 qualifier in Montenegro to conduct the Welsh Cup Round 1 draw today in the Vale Hotel, near Cardiff.

There are some exciting draws with an all capital clash involving one of the lowest ranked teams left in the competition. Bridgend Street, who are based in Splott, travel to Cardiff Grange Harlequins, whilst another minnow STM Sports will enjoy their trip to Jenner Park to face former Welsh Premier Champions Barry Town.

In the north, Cefn Druids will play their first Welsh Cup match at their new stadium against near neighbours Penycae from Wrexham.

Anglesey League side Treaddur Bay will enjoy home advantage against Penparcau, whilst former winners Rhyl will take a good traveling support to Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant.

There's an interesting Mid-Wales Huws Gray Alliance clash with Caersws hosting Rhayader Town.
