BUILTH CLOSE IN ON LEADERS

Builth Wells leapfrogged Bishops Castle to go into second place behind early season pacesetters Abermule.
Builth lead by a goal from leagues leading goalscorer Greg Preece (pictured)before second half goals from Sean Powell and Aeron Powell secured the points.
Also climbing the table after an indifferent start are Brecon Corries who hammered Newtown Wanderers 10-1
Corries took the lead after 14 mins before Wanderers equalised through skipper Ciaran Wheeldon but further goals from Luis Price and Joel Evans put the Corries in the driving seat before the break.In the second half the home side capitulated after sustained pressure and further Corries goals came from Joel Evans3 Craig Evans2,Luis Price and Tristan Dillon.
In the league cup Tywyn Bryncrug advanced via a penalty shoot out at Tregaron Turfs.With the score locked at 2-2 at the final whistle,Aled Jones scored the decisive penalty to add to his brace in normal time.Both Tregaron goals came from Jac Hockenhull.
In a closely fought encounter at Abermule the home side advanced with a 2-1 win against Llansantffraid.First half goals by Rhys Stephens for Abermule and Ryan Broadbent for Llansantffraid had the clubs level at the break with the winning goal for the home side coming from Dewi Hughes after 76 mins.
Waterloo Rovers had a convincing 8-2 home win over struggling Churchstoke with the goals coming from Tom Ellis 4 Jake Mantell 2
Ryan Ellis and Luke Evans with the Churchstoke replies coming from Greg Pryce and Jamie Oakley.
All the other games were postponed because of Covid cases
