Llanidloes in first ever extra time match covered by the groundhoppers in front of their second highest crowd witnessed in Wales
Over 300 spectators saw Llanidloes beat Llansantffraid Village 2-1 after extra time in the 2nd Preliminary Round of the Welsh Cup. This apparently was the first time ever that an official groundhop UK match had gone into extra time in its history. It was also the second best ever crowd in Wales of an official event. Gareth Mansell scored the extra time winner for Llanidloes after both sides had missed good chances throughout the first half which was goalless. Llansantffraid looked to have won the game in the second half after an early goal although sustained pressure from the home side saw them equalise during the final stages of normal time.
