SUMMER CUP FINAL

Llandrindod on top in second period

Landrindod Wells won the Summer Cup final at home to Berriew this afternoon on the Broadway by 5 goals to nil.
The Cup which is donated in memory of the late Mr E W Griffiths (Caersws) was played in sunny conditions with Llandrindod (newly promoted to the Cymru Alliance) going two goals up at the interval in an evenly contested first period.
In the second period, they were more in control of the game and scored three more goals in the latter period of the second half.
Captain Chris Murphy picked up the trophy from league secrretary Phil Woosnam at the conclusion when both sides were wished the best of luck for the forthcoming season.
