Roberts in for Roberts

By Web Master

Dyffryn Banw have moved quickly to replace Chris Roberts by appointing Ian Roberts as their new manager

The former Bettws boss has been installed at the Spar Division One outfit just five days after Roberts played his last game for the club before joining Huws Gray Alliance outfit Guilsfield as No. 2 to Russell Cadwallader.
A club statement read: “Ian brings with him a wealth of experience and we are delighted to have him on board leading the club onward and upward. We at Banw are obviously very disappointed to be losing our manager who has taken Banw into the Spar Mid Wales League and has taken the team from strength to strength during his reign. We would like to thank Chris for his commitment to the club over his five years and wish him all the best as he will always be regarded very highly here at Dyffryn Banw Football Club.”

Gareth Smith will continue in his capacity as assistant manager and the pair will be straight into action this weekend when they look to move on from their defeat at bottom club Presteigne last Saturday with a trip to Carno. The club has won just once in its last seven.
