LEAGUE goes down to the wire

By Phil Woosnam

Last full days fixtures will decide Championship

The Spar League season will go down to the final full day of fixtures after this weeks midweek matches.
Penrhyncoch remain favourites with a point advantage over Knighton although they will not find it easy against an in-form Hay St Mary's team.
Knighton also have a difficult game on paper at home to Llanrhaeadr and will surely need to win to succeed in their quest for promotion. Their story is similar to previous winners of Division 2 teams in recent years when Llandrindod Wells and then Llanfair Utd won back-to-back league titles of Spar Division 2 followed immediately by Division 1.
Division 2 Runners-Up spot is also up for grabs with Radnor Valley now requiring a win to make sure of that position coming with a late run which saw them defeat Kerry and Penybont this midweek. They, though, face a difficult tie away at Borth Utd.
Aberystwyth Uni now look out of it but Kerry still retain a chance if they can win both matches remaining at Penybont and Bont.

A fantastic season's finale is assured come this weekend.
