Inaugural Groundhopper match

By Phil Woosnam

Over 250 spectators in attendance

In the inaugural ground hopper match this Bank Holiday weekend, it was extremely pleasing to welcome sunny weather to the Community Centre ground at Abermule.
A crowd in excess of 250 people was in evidence at the match and this led to a good standard of play from both teams.
Abermule won the match by the only goal scored in the first half and the encounter exploded late on with three players quite rightly being shown the red card by referee Mick Jarman.
An excellent start to the "groundhop" with Abermule FC quite rightly being congratulated by leader Chris Berezai for the excellent programme that had been produced together with some cracking refreshments being served by club members.
Let's hope the weather is as kind for the remainder of the weekend.
