LLANFAIR UTD are crowned Champions

By Phil Woosnam

in another extraordinary year

Llanfair Utd were crowned Champions of the inaugural MMP sponsored Mid Wales League by their representative Bryan Jarman after yesterdays win at Kerry in conjunction with MMP League Executive member Graham Evans.
The league title went down to the final 45 minutes as Kerry were all square with their opponents up to that point. Sustained pressure from Llanfair secured victory in the end helped by four goals from their leading striker Josh Astley.
They therefore beat nearest rivals to the Championship Llanidloes on goal difference only after Llani defeated Tywyn away in their final match. They accepted their trophies from League Vice Chairman Clifford Davies.
Llanfair will now look forward to life back in Tier 2 and the newly named Championship North division.
We sincerely wish them well.
