Berriew confirm Alliance intent

By Web Master

Berriew are the first side to apply for promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance next season, meaning that should they finish second and the champions don’t apply then they will go up.

League secretary Chas Rowland has received an application from the Spar Mid Wales Division Club which is currently trailing Llanrhaeadr by a sole point. There is no word whether they, or fellow title chasers Llansantffraid Village or Carno will apply and they have until December 31 to decide.
“Berriew have expressed an interest in promotion and have been informed that they need to supply the relevant inspection fee to now be considered,” said Rowland.
Meanwhile, Applications are being accepted for promotion to the Spar Mid Wales League Division Two.
Secretary Phil Woosnam has sent notification to the Montgomeryshire Amateur League, Mid Wales League South, Aberystwyth & District League as well as the Ceredigion League. That closing date, too, is December 31.
He said: “Clubs outside the top two positions may still be promoted as there are vacancies within that Division at present.”
On receipt of nominations ground inspections will take place before February 28, 2011
